Estrogenicity determination in sewage treatment plants and surface waters from the Catalonian Area (NE Spain)

Article Abstract:

In this study, water samples and carp were gathered from various sites along two tributaries of the Llobregat river to determine the presence and effects of polyethoxylated nonylphenol surfactants and nonylphenol. The article is broken down into an introduction and a discussion of the experiment and its results. Tables and graphs accompany the article.

A potential source of organic pollutants into the northwestern Atlantic: the outflow of the Mediterranean deep-lying waters through the Gibraltar Strait

Article Abstract:

Water samples are taken from the area near the Strait of Gibraltar to determine the addition of organic pollutants such as organochlorine compounds, and aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons from the Mediterranean. Graphs show a steady input of hydrophobic organic contaminants in mid-depth northeastern Atlantic waters from the Mediterranean.
