Article Abstract:

Engineers at Lockheed Martine Wideband Systems used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to design an oscillator for an aircraft electronics assembly. CFD allows the accurate estimation of component temperatures by modelling the exact geometry of the component. The FLUENT software was chosen because of the modelling tools it provides which include radiative and natural convective cooling and a porous media model.
