Article Abstract:

"Waken" is a full-room multimedia installation using cardboard, six-channel surround mix, audio and design softwares, and digital animation, and is a generative sculpture that utilizes three distinct algorithms through which the composition is created. It constructs a sonic prairie, with audio mix dispersed through 24 speakers grouped in four arrays, called "flower clusters", since they are designed to simulate the organic behavior of flower interactivity.

Otter-Eating Orcas

Article Abstract:

The decline in the sea otter population along the Aleutian Islands and surrounding areas may be due to predation by killer whales. There have been confirmed attacks on otters by the whales, but oil spills and other factors may also contribute to the decline in the population of otters. Further study is needed to determine the effect of the whales on the otter population.
