The US automobile industry is expected to produce more utilitarian cars in the latter part of the 1990s, with an emphasis on truck and truck-based products as well as affordable and compact vehicles. Specific plans for Chrysler, Ford and General Motors are discussed.

Hummer comes home

Article Abstract:

The 'Hummer,' or M998 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, gained gained a measure of fame during the Persian Gulf War. Now the manufacturer, AM General, has modified 1,000 of the vehicles for civilian use. The prices range from $40,500 to $54,000.
