Bridge collapse prompts investigations, raises questions

Article Abstract:

The bridge collapse at Minneapolis Interstate 35W in the U.S. raised questions about the country's ability to maintain and improve aging infrastructures, and the tragedy, coincidentally, happened on the same day the legislation on National Infrastructure Bank was introduced in Congress. Initiatives on bridge inspection and repair that came after the incident are discussed.

High-performance hybrid

Article Abstract:

Research demonstrates that high-performance steel usage as construction material in steel bridge construction results in lighter, less complicated, and more economical steel designs. Data further show that hybrid griders incorporating high-performance and conventional steels reduce labor, material, and maintenance costs.
