Bringing the Mountain to Mohammed

Article Abstract:

Recent research supports the theory that DNA replication takes place in a fixed replication 'factory' through which DNA chromosomes threads themselves. The prior understanding was that the chromosomes were stationary and the replication machinery was mobile. The challenge to this theory is the complexity of the DNA duplication proces in eukaryotic cells.

Molecular individualism: polymer physics

Article Abstract:

Deformations or individualism in long polymer chains, when observed under fluorescent labelling, is analyzed. Research techniques producing longitudinal shears at the midpoint, and other deformations, are described.

Imaging Molecular Chemistry with Infrared Microscopy

Article Abstract:

Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) microspectroscopy combines microscopy with spectroscopy. It produces vivid spatial resolution in direct analysis, requiring no homogenization, extraction, or dilution.
