Developing a performance measurement system for world-class distribution logistics by using activity-based costing and management: case: basic metal industries

Article Abstract:

Activity Based Costing and Management (ABC/ABM) is found to be an effective performance measurement tool for world-class distribution as it effectively identifies external and internal factors affecting performance and parts of the supply chain in need of improvements. The system was aplied to the basic metals industry and has six viewpoints namely, internal, external, physical and economic, soft and hard, customer performance and supplier performance.
