Digging in the Mire for the Air of Ancient Times

Article Abstract:

Researchers have discovered that the peat bogs throughout parts of Europe are providing evidence of mercury contamination that has existed for thousands of years. Some of the bogs, which are fed only by rain or snowfall, are showing atmospheric evidence of mercury contamination, whereas others are also fed by rivers and streams that could be supplying the mercury.
