Article Abstract:

Biologist Rick A. Relyea's research shows that pesticides kill frogs when the pesticide is combined with another stressor: the presence of a predator. However, it is difficult to prove that modern pesticides are a major cause of amphibian decline, though Relyea's study is very significant.

Stain removers contain perfluorooctanoic that is used to improve paints and polishes and generate chemicals that are harmful to the environment. Chemists are trying to change the structure of fluorosurfactants so that they do not accumulate in the environment.
