Ecolabeled products find home at Depot

Article Abstract:

Home Depot Inc. has established the Environmental Marketing Claims Evaluation and Certification Program to evaluate the environmental claims of products sold in its stores. Under the program, suppliers are asked to send their products to a third party for review. The life cycle of a product is then assessed to determine the environmental effects of the various stages of its production and usage.

Article Abstract:

The Pioneer robot from Pittsburgh, PA-based RedZone Robotics will be used to examine the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. By combining video images from the robot with a three-dimensional model, scientists can pinpoint the exact location where the lava penetrated the floor.
