Fighting Fire With Fire

Article Abstract:

Increasing trade and travel have brought about a similar increase in the number of exotic invasive species that may harm native animals or plants. Faced with this problem, many are turning to biological control, or the importing the natural enemies of a plant of animal. While very effective in many cases, experts warn that these natural enemies may bring about problems of their own.

Genomic, Nanotech Centers Open $200 Million Push by Harvard

Article Abstract:

Harvard University has plans to spend up to $200 million into the first few years of the new millennium on two research centers to focus on genomics and nanotechnology. The university hopes that the wise spending of endowment money will bolster its image in science and attract the top professors and students.
