Final countdown

Article Abstract:

Warnings are aired by the UK government's Action 2000 program on the companies still not complying with the year 2000 computer problems. A significant date that may prove to be troublesome is Sep 9, 1999 or 9.9.99 which may activate malfunctions in computer systems. A company diligently handling its millennium compliance is Lineside Engineering, a supplier of sheet metal products to different companies involved in the automotive and consumer goods industries. John Kenyon, sales director of Lineside, stressed that millennium compliance is a vital 'quality' factor.

Millenium doom

Article Abstract:

UK companies should brace themselves for the legal and financial implications of the year 2000 problem. Year 2000 problem expert Robin Guenier believes that it is already too late for companies to devise solutions for all their systems. Thus, they should be aware that they can be held liable for losses resulting from these failures and begin developing ways to address the legal consequences of the problem.
