Removal of phenols from aqueous streams by the cloud point extraction technique with oxyethylated methyl dodecanoates as surfactants

Article Abstract:

Despite many advances in the field of separation techniques over the past 30 years, removal of pollutants from wastewaters and removal of pollutants from aqueous industrial streams remains a challenge. New oxyethylated methyl dodecanoates with degress of oxyethylation between 5 and 14 were considered as nonionic surfactants for the removal of 4-methylphenol, phenol and 4-nitophenol from aqueous streams by utilizing the cloud point extraction technique.

Hybrid organic/inorganic reverse osmosis (RO) membrane for bactericidal anti-fouling. 1. Preparation and characterization of Ti0(sub 2) nanoparticle self-assembled aromatic polyamide thin-film-composite (TFC) membrane

Article Abstract:

In an effort to come up with a breakthrough at biofouling problems, Hybrid organic/inorganic reverse osmosis (RO) membranes made of aromatic polyamide thin films underneath titanium dioxide nanosized particles were fabricated utilizing a self-assembly process. In order to reduce the cost of operation and increase efficiency, enhancing or maintaining water flux over a long period without sacrificing salt rejection has been a goal of the research industry in RO membrane fields.
