IT sourcing: a research framework

Article Abstract:

The outsourcing of IT has become a significant issue and IT outsourcing has considerably increased due to a number of developments such as corporate downsizing. While estimates of the size of markets for IT outsourcing vary, these markets are clearly substantial. Little by way of theory has been applied to considerations of IT outsourcing, however. It is argued that all IT should be outsourced unless there are special conditions which steer firms away from this direction.

Knowledge distribution among market experts: a closer look into the efficiency of information gathering for innovation

Article Abstract:

The number of experts who need to be interviewed in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of a given search field for innovation is determined. The expert interviews that were conducted in the context of an innovation project in the field of surgical hygiene products showed high heterogeneity of expert knowledge that aligns with the concept of 'bounded rationality' and the theory of 'contextual development of knowledge'.
