Is the world warming or not?

Article Abstract:

Global warming was both confirmed and denied in recent news stories, but climatologist claim there is insufficient data to support either conclusion. Satellite data has been available for too few years, and historical records of long-range warming do not agree with greenhouse-effect simulations.

Taking the pulse of the sun in records of the solar wind

Article Abstract:

AT &T Bell Lab researchers have observed radiation they believe is emanating from the sun's core. While searching for causes of satellite damage, they found signals with periods too short to be caused by the solar wind, which may be the gravity-wave oscillations predicted by helioseismologists.
