Landscape Changes Make Regional Climate Run Hot and Cold

Article Abstract:

Researchers are finding that human influences on land use such as agriculture, deforestation, and development can impact climate. In Colorado, for example, researchers found that increased lawn irrigation and corn growing contributed to an average two degree temperature drop in July. Conversely in the Amazon rainforest, researchers found a correlation between deforestation and an increase in hot dryness.
