A gamut of groups; mutations, knots and parliaments are terms for some of the creatures that like hanging out together

Article Abstract:

Group terms that described animals have several historical bases. Appearance was a primary source of collective nouns to define certain groups of animals, such as a 'gaggle' of geese or a 'knot' of toads. Other inspirations are common characteristics or behavior and even human error.

Shaggy mushroom stories

Article Abstract:

Wild mushrooms, a fungi family belonging to the Coprinus genus, tend to secrete self-digesting catalysts which create a dark surface on the affected part. One of the most interesting varieties of these fungi is the Shaggy Mane, which resembles an elongated hair cap.

We love it, we love it not

Article Abstract:

The dandelion has elicited mixed reactions from people who have seen it. Some people consider it an intrusive weed while others consider it a wildflower. Surprisingly, none of the dandelion's numerous names attest to its versatility as a wild edible plant.
