Comets are one of the most-interesting intergalactic objects because of their rich mythological and scientific backgrounds. Scientists claim that comets and other space borne materials were responsible for creating the atmosphere, water bodies and living organisms which made Earth habitable.

Thin films

The increasing demand for thin films for use in applications ranging from electronic devices to optical equipment is generating a demand for new thin-film production technologies. Several new thin film approaches are briefly described.

Predicting useful materials

A researcher has demonstrated that the first-principles theory can predict new materials. A predicted material has been synthesized, which suggests that the theory can be used to design materials with predictable properties.
