Liquefaction failure and remediation: King Harbor, Redondo Beach, California

Article Abstract:

A study on liquefaction-induced damage and remediation at Redondo Beach King Harbor during the 1994 Northridge earthquake is evaluated. The authors are urged to reassess the significance of drainage in remedial work by taking into account the effects of drain resistance. It is also suggested that the authors give more detailed explanations on how vibro-replacement stone columns can reduce the potential deformations with the onset of liquefaction.
