As the popularity of CD-ROMs and the World Wide Web continues to grow among the American public, celebrities may play a role in making computer-based entertainment comprehensible. The tastes of celebrities could be used to filter the information available into more manageable chunks for fans.

There's no place like cyberspace; new world's require new ideas, not old metaphors

Article Abstract:

The widespread use of the Internet and other vast computer networks is likely to change the way people perceive the world. Existing metaphors to describe the geography of the digital world are limited, but work is underway to develop more useful ways to imagine cyberspace and its constructs.

Universal disservice

Politicians would do well to allow market forces to dictate interconnection of institutions to the Internet than resort to government initiatives. Funding is the main concern because not all areas are reached by the state-of-the-art communications systems that the Internet relies upon.
