New technique maps the body electric

Article Abstract:

Han Wen and Robert Balaban have developed a new medical-imaging technology they call Hall-effect imaging (HEI). The method, which imposes a magnetic field on an ultrasound beam to obtain a Hall voltage, produces much better resolution than ultrasound at less cost than magnetic resonance imaging.
