The euro, which will take effect on Jan 1, 1999, is expected to affect businesses and travel in the continent. The transition from national currencies to a national currency will be gradual affecting electronic transactions first until the year 2002 when majority of European countries will use the euro.

Based on a study of the nutritive values of fresh, canned and frozen fruits and vegetables, the 'freshness' of fresh produce is doubtful after their exposure to variable weather conditions.
