PARACEST agents: modulating MRI contrast via water proton exchange

Article Abstract:

The factors that govern water molecule and water proton exchanges in the complexes are reviewed. The potential sensitivity of PARACEST agents and Gd3+-based T1 relaxation agents for altering tissue contrast is compared.

Sol-gel methods for the assembly of metal chalcogenide quantum dots

The application of sol-gel chemistry to the formation of CdSe architectures and metal chalcogenides is described. The way in which surface modification can lead to highly luminous monoliths is presented.
