Palladium-catalyzed alpha-arylation of carbonyl compounds and nitriles

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the use of palladium catalysts for the alpha-arylation of carbonyl compounds such as ketones and the mechanism involved in the product-forming reductive elimination step. Research describes the structures and reactions of arylpalladium complexes to understand the binding mode and electronic and steric factors that influence the rate and mechanism of reductive elimination.
