Potential difference

Article Abstract:

Companies need to develop clear career development plans to avert disruptive employee grievances in the future. Companies appear to be gradually developing individual approaches to this problem. Their approaches are centered on the identification of three types of employees. These include senior managers who will follow the traditional career growth path, highly skilled workers whose career goals are to be met halfway and the general workforce who will be supported as they enter self-managed career development plans.

Article Abstract:

Peter Sondergaard, managing vice president for business consultant GartnerGroup Europe, says that internet implementation can be divided into four stages: establishing a net presence, procurement, transaction and transformation. He puts just five years between the beginning of the first and fourth phases.

Achieving full potential

Article Abstract:

Electrical switchgear, control devices and accessories manufacturer MEM 250 reaped substantial benefits from its choice of computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CADCAM) software. The company had initially bought a number of seats of 3D CAD system based on the parametric method. However, this proved to be a wrong choice because the parametric technique links every design element in an uninterrupted chain of dependencies. MEM 250 found a better choice in SDRC's I-DEAS software system.
