Proposal to counter scientist 'shortage' draws fire

Article Abstract:

The US Dept of Labor has proposed easing immigration restrictions for some types of scientists, in order to compensate for a perceived shortage. Some US scientific associations have objected, claiming that the shortage does not exist and that easing the restrictions will make the scientific job market tougher for US scientists.
