According to recent analyses, largest parts of the Amazon forest, which sprawls across an area about as large as Western Europe could end up turning into dry Savannas, which is a state from which there may be no turning back even if the climate returned to normal as a result of occasional but extreme climate. The effect of global warming increased carbon dioxide, deforestation, on the Amazon ecosystem is discussed.
