Punctuated evolution of embryos

Article Abstract:

Recent research shed slight on the evolution of developmental processes. In Studies of sea urchins, frogs and ascidians, development from embryo to larva to adult correlated with life history strategies such as larval feeding and dispersal, and not with adult morphology.
