SCADA and telemetry systems

Article Abstract:

Telemetry systems, using supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) packages, are gaining popularity due to better price performance ratio of SCADA/programmable logic controllers (PLC) over distributed control systems. SCADA/PLC solutions are cost effective and enable users to select the best SCADA and PLC package. Windows NT is the likely choice for SCADA. A variety of packages such as FIX, InTouch Paragon and FactoryLink are available, while those with improved connectivity are under development.
