Sequence and structural determinants of amyloid fibril formation

Article Abstract:

The sequence and structural determinants of protein aggregation in amyloid fibril formation and the factors that dominate the aggregation of unfolded peptides and proteins is described. The factors that pertain to the aggregation of partially structured states are reviewed and the ability of the even fully folded proteins states to aggregate into early oligomers in any case with no need to undergo significant conformational changes are presented.

Photocontrolling peptide alpha helices

Article Abstract:

Reversible optical control of protein structure and function offers the possibility of probing and manipulating individual proteins within the complex environment of a living cell. Reversible, photocontrolled peptide alpha helices is designed and synthesized as a first step towards creating artificial photocontrolled proteins.

Synchrotron radiolysis and mass spectrometry: a new approach to research on the actin cytoskeleton

Article Abstract:

Radiolytic protein footprinting along with mass spectrometry us developed and matures into a viable approach for analyzing protein structure and dynamics. The time-resolved dymaics of actin assembly and disassembly using footprinting is examined.
