A budgetary storm is brewing: the new Congress may chop technology funds

Article Abstract:

The Republican-controlled Congress may seek deep cuts in science programs, which could lead to the elimination of such agencies as the Office of Technological Assessment and the US Geological Survey. Scientists hope that Robert Walker, chair of the House Science Committee, will limit such cuts.
