Technology strategy in networks

Article Abstract:

The technology strategy of a company is ultimately an aspect of its networking strategy that will determine the competitiveness of the company. A company's networking strategy is its biggest challenge to streamline its supply chain and efforts to link itself with suppliers through technology determines the company's strategic position in the context of its network. The harmony of a company's technological network with its suppliers will determine its competitiveness.

Impact of information technologies on manufacturing

Article Abstract:

Information technologies (IT) play a vital role in the development of manufacturing. IT increases productivity gains and market development through enhancement of human knowledge and exchange of information around the globe. The increase in productivity, as an effect of information technologies, helps creation of more jobs and further expansion of the market. Automation of manufacturing processes boosts the product quality and reduces operating costs.

Possession is nine tenths of the law: managing a firm's knowledge base in a regime of weak appropriability

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze challenges associated with getting employees to contribute their knowledge in a regime of weak appropriability. Results indicated that getting the firm-specific know-how that makes a company's competence base allows a firm to exercise its property rights over them. Findings also showed differences between the political economy of information and the political economy of physical goods.
