Valuations: never merely a calculation

Article Abstract:

A 1997 study of 102 analysts found the standard of management was a key indicator in valuing a company. SG Securities (London) Head of Engineering Research Dr Zafar Khan pointed out the quality of management was more important than financial data when evaluating a company. A valuation was based on the more than hard data but also included the expert opinion of the analyst. Other speakers considered the value of intellectual assets and real option valuation. The PricewaterhouseCoopers and Acquisitions Monthly conference in London, England, was held during Nov. 30, 1998- Dec. 1, 1998.

The Art of the Orbit

Article Abstract:

NASA missions must cost less than $300 million in 1999 dollars, which has prompted scientists to find innovate ways to design trajectories for spacecrafts. Spacecraft navigation has also been changed because of the budget restraints. The crafts have to carry less fuel and must weigh less, so problems that were solved with lots of fuel must be solved with ingenuity.
