The E. coli are coming

A team of researchers at the Tufts University has provided convincing evidence for the ability of escherichia coli to develop resistance against commercial antibacterial products, including triclosan. These bacteria may eventually render antiseptics inefficient in preventing bacterial infection.

Public eye: spy satellite technology may assist government watchdogs

Commercial satellite companies plan to make available to the general public within a couple of years photographic images that were once just for military or government reconnaissance. These should prove very valuable to public interest and advocacy groups.
