The ghost of Lysenko

Article Abstract:

A brief description revealing the fact that US leads the world in biomedical discoveries, DNA technologies, and therapies are presented. Even though federal and local governments had banned recombinant DNA technology, new regulations required academic and commercial research entities to submit their plans for approval to national and local advisory committees and research prospered.

As arguments mount over who will own the future technologies born of stem cell research, corporate lawyers prepare for battle

Article Abstract:

A brief description on the way in which the corporate lawyers are preparing themselves for the issue that who would own the future technologies born of stem cell research is presented. Legal experts point that there is very little US litigation involving stem cells, even though one organization claims to own the patent rights to all embryonic stems.

A patchwork of laws

Little consensus exists from country to country about what practices should be allowed with stem cells in spite of several attempts to find agreement. There are three main scientific issues involves in the debate, namely, human embryonic stem cells, reproductive cloning, and therapeutic cloning.
