The prion diseases

Article Abstract:

The once-unpopular notion that prions, long known to cause such animal disorders as bovine spongiform encephalopathy, are responsible for certain human diseases is now widely accepted in the scientific community. Diseases caused by prions include Kuru, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, and fatal familial insomnia.

CDC - disease central for the whole world

Article Abstract:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention facility in Atlanta, GA, employs more than 7,000 workers which include geneticists, virologists and epidemiologists. It is involved in the eradication and control of infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis and AIDS.

Article Abstract:

New and more resistant strains of infectious diseases are rapidly spreading to attack both animals and humans. These diseases include new strains of Lyme disease, tuberculosis, Ebola and Legionnaire's disease.
