There has been a major increase in the mergers and acquisitions in the engineering consulting industry, as in the case of the merger of Montgomery Watson, Pasadena, CA, with Warzyn, Madison, WI, establishing a $350 million environmental-management and technology services empire. The smooth conduct of such firms, after mergers, depends largely on the time consumed in researching the technical aspects, legal factors, internal recruiting and the efficient operation of the company as a single unit.
