Transfer cells: cells specialized for a special purpose

Article Abstract:

With recent development of transfer cell experimental systems, combined with technologies to image the three-dimensional structure of wall ingrowths, identification of inductive and regulatory signals, discovery of sequential processes involved in their differentiation, and a search for transfer cell identity genes is facilitated. Thus, a model of key events in differentiation of a transfer cell is presented to highlight areas for future investigation.

How do crop plants tolerate acid soils? Mechanisms of aluminum tolerance and phosphorous efficiency

Article Abstract:

Great interest is shown in understanding the mechanisms and genes conferring tolerance to acid soil because acid soils are an important constraint to agriculture. Acid soil limits crop production worldwide because around 50 percent of the world's potentially arable soils are acidic. The research into plant mechanisms of tolerance to phosphorus deficiency stress, a trait hat is commonly termed as phosphorous efficiency is addressed.

Remodeling the cytoskeleton for growth and form: an overview with some new views

Article Abstract:

The most recent work on the signaling mechanisms that continually remodels the actin cytoskeleton through the activation of actin-binding proteins (ABPs) is evaluated. In addition, the role played by microtubule cytoskeleton in the process of signaling mechanism is also considered.
