Tumor cells fight back to beat immune system

Article Abstract:

New research suggests that cancer cells defend against immune-system attack by initiating a suicide response in T-cells. Melanoma cells were found to contain Fas ligand, which when bound to the Fas molecule carried by T-cells, initiates cell death, as it does in cells in immune-protected body regions.
