Tunnel vision: transportation planners share the dream of a global rail system linking the continents
Article Abstract:
The realization of global trade requires a high-speed transportation system connecting the major parts of the world. A main component of this transportation system would be tunnels which would link the various continents. The Eurotunnel, the tunnel connecting England to other parts of Europe, may be followed by a rain tunnel beneath the Bering Strait to connect Siberia and Alaska, and a tunnel under the Strait of Gibraltar to connect Spain and Morocco.

If they built a memorial to the war in the streets
Article Abstract:
Artists have designed monuments commemorating those who have died from violent crimes in the cities. Proposed memorials include a fountain flowing with blood-colored liquid, plaques of people murdered on the site of their death and taxis with mementos and pictures of drivers that have died at work.
