Virtual combat in actual lab

Article Abstract:

A 70,000 sq ft Training and Training Technology Battle Laboratory at Fort Dix, NJ, will be constructed for military training applications. The $10.5 facility will promote a virtual and simulation training device environment. The facility includes six night-fighting lanes which are 24 ft wide and 120 ft long. These lanes will have theater sets and props to appear as combat terrains such as urban, desert, mountain, forest, jungle and tundra. The facility is expected to reduce the risks and high expenses associated with military training.
