An integrated project control system (IPCS) is being prepared to handle the daily operations of the Boston Central Artery/Ted William Tunnel (CA/T). The IPCS, developed by Transdyn Controls Inc, will enable the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority to manage CA/T roadway facilities cost-effectively and ensure safe and efficient traffic flow through the tunnel and its approaches. Among the system's components are vehicle-detection systems, closed-circuit video cameras, radio broadcasting equipment, electronic signs and lane use signals.
