Water quality: project to test large - scale aeration system in Stockton Ship Channel

Article Abstract:

The causes for low dissolved oxygen (DO) levels in the Stockton Deep Water Ship Channel, a dredged portion of California's San Joaquin River, the special concerns towards the low levels during the fall months and usage of the demonstration aeration system or the U tube are discussed. The functioning, design as well as construction of the aeration system is also analyzed.

Construction begins on facility to treat runoff from Britannia Mine

Article Abstract:

North America's Britannia Mine at British Columbia is one of the most significant sources of acidic mine drainage. The government has started a remediation project to cleanup the highly toxic runoff and to stop the drainage from the mine. Details of the construction work are presented.
