What does utility-subsidized energy efficiency really cost?

Article Abstract:

The effectiveness of utility companies' customer energy programs are difficult to measure. Identifying cost-effective measures to recommend to users is not simple. Alternate factors to stress might include credit incentives and special treatment for different types of users.

Does E. coli have a nose?

Article Abstract:

Escherichia coli bacteria cell chemoreceptors determine their direction by smelling, in a manner, their targets. Researchers used electron microscopy to determine that receptors were usually located in clusters and acted cooperatively.

How does the Texaco case affect photocopying by scientists?

The American Geophysical Union case against Texaco Inc restricts photocopying at for-profit entities for archival purposes. Many fair use issues about the differences between personal and systematic copying remain unresolved.
