Where fiction became ancient fact

Article Abstract:

The discovery of a radioactive mineral in Oklo River in 1972 sparked the curiosity of nuclear physicists and environmental scientists. It was revealed that the mineral is actually a fossil which contains Uranium 235 and was enriched through natural processes and microbial action.

Ten percent of US citizens are deprived of medical attention due to the unbalanced distribution of practitioners in the region. Such imbalances are significantly attributed to geographical variations, which compel physicians to concentrate more in technologically advanced areas.

The placebo effect: should doctors be prescribing sugar pills?

Article Abstract:

Placebos are found to be effective 30% to 40% of the time and this forces doctors to think whether or not they should be prescribing placebos to relieve suffering associated with illnesses. Doctors should be able to weigh the risks and benefits in prescribing placebos.
