Some books say coyotes in eastern Canada are actually coydogs, while others say coydogs don't exist. Who's right?

Article Abstract:

Coydogs result from the union of coyotes and dogs. Coyotes have the ability to pair with dogs and wolves to produce viable offsprings able to interbreed. Limitations on the existence of interbreeds are the behavior characteristics and the timing of fertility of females.
