X-rays find new ways to shine

Article Abstract:

Researchers are using high energy x-rays from third generation sources to study matter with speed and sensitivity unparalleled in the past. The beams are being utilized in the examination of spider silk, crystal structure and materials with structures too disordered for diffraction studies.

Europeans plan their next big source

Astronomers protect endangered bands

Article Abstract:

Astronomers attending the World Radio Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, in Nov 1995, presented a paper that requested governments to grant them exclusive use of particular radio bands. Radio frequencies are becoming crowded due to use of new technologies.
