Chronic idiopathic hyponatremia in older people due to syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH) possibly related to aging

Article Abstract:

Nursing home patients with hyponatremia were studied to see if they also had a syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH). Those that did were studied for an underlying cause for this syndrome and in most cases, there was none. Elderly patients may just be at risk for hyponatremia and SIADH.
