Development of a scale to predict decline in patients with mild Alzheimer's disease

Article Abstract:

A retrospective cohort study has been carried out to develop a scale that can help in predicting likelihood of decline from mild dementia over one year in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD). A clinical scale was developed using data to improve prediction about change from mild to moderate or severe AD stages.

Enhanced cognitive performance with estrogen use in nondemented community-dwelling older women

Article Abstract:

A community study of the effect of estrogen use on postmenopausal women found that the use of this hormone supplement led to a higher score on the Modified Mental-State Examination, and that this finding remained even after controlling for other variables which could affect cognition.
