Healthcare costs associated with percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy among older adults in a defined community

Article Abstract:

Medical economics research shows that direct annual charges attributed to percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube feeding average conservatively at $31,832. Significant variation in charges exist, however, due to expenses associated with infrequent but major complications.

Depression treatment in a sample of 1,801 depressed older adults in primary care

Article Abstract:

Findings suggest that increasing access to mental health care for depression may improve patient outcomes, particularly for men and minorities. Studies were conducted on patients 60 years of age and older who had been diagnosed with dysthymia or major depression.

Reliability and validity of a steadiness score

Article Abstract:

Results of the study made to find out the consistency of steadiness while walking and self support mobility in older persons reveal that steadiness answers many questions about the Activity Daily Life.
